The gift of having lived six decades so far is that I can reflect back on my life with more breathing space and an invaluable sense of humor.
Breathing and Space, my heart moves to deep appreciation just writing those words. And as far as a sense of humor, I am pretty clear I would not be here today without it.
Life has always been my greatest teacher. This section of the website reflects on the wisdom and experiences I have collected. When reflecting on and sharing these experiences, it struck me that they were like the individual petals of a lotus. Each is beautiful in its own right, yet part of a greater whole. And I like that the image of a lotus is inclusive and inviting to all.
In a more cosmic universal sense, the petals also represent all the many, many lives I feel I have lived. Whether those lives were once physical or just holographic in memory, I cannot say — but there is an accumulated sense of knowledge and wisdom from many lives in my current psyche, upon which I draw for inspiration and wisdom.
Welcome to Lessons from the Lotus.
We can all agree that fear exists. Depending on our previous exposure to fear and uncertainty or to the beliefs, attitudes, and depth of the self-care practices we have embraced, the idea of managing fear and uncertainty may be a relatively new concept for us.
